March & April

Over the last couple of months we have had members coming in and volunteering their time to the improvement of our club.

18th March to 4th April 09

First off the ranks is Terry Dow and the canteen. Terry found the wonderful stainless steel bench with a huge sink for washing up at one end and at the other is a hand cleaning sink. Perfect! Before whacking this wonderful bench in he first boarded up an existing door that would be behind the bench making it ready for tiling. Terry rounded up Trevor the Tiler and using donated tiles and grout by Mahon Asset Management Services (MAMS) they did a fantastic job of extending the existing tiled area.

9th April 09

Garrie and Vic started the task of putting in ripple strips. They completed one corner this day.

They also went around and flushed the drains at each corner on the track. Who knew they were there!

8 & 9th April 09

Vic was in his element as he was able to put a piece of machinery through its paces for a company who had bought it second hand from an auction. What marvelleous timing! Vic has completed quite a few things that we wouldn’t have been able to before. He tidied up the car ramp between the Starter Box and Grid and added a small ramp down to the generator making it so much easier to unload barrels of diesel. He also started work on the other car ramp just past Terry and Joy’s house but discontinued as the dust was going towards their home and Joy’s washing. Vic was able to tidy up the conveyor belt in the lay down area. The last job he was able to do was scooping dirt from the edges of the track and replacing it so when the ripple strip making starts up again their job won’t be so arduous as that first corner.
